Stuck with your wedding stationery wording? Not for long. Advice & Inspiration from the experts...

Hooray! The time has come to put together the wording for your wedding stationery.

But where on earth do you start? Our answer is... right here! We've seen a lot of wording in our 12 years as wedding stationers, so take a look below for our suggestions of the best way to word your wedding invites, save the dates and favours.

INVITATIONS

So you obviously need the basics... like this:

Karen & Ben

are getting married

2pm, Saturday 10th May 2025

Lovely Hotel / Church, Beautiful Street, Pretty Village, L00 VEE

But then the main wording... hmmm, what to put... how about?

Karen & Ben, together with their families, would love you to join them as they celebrate their marriage. Dinner & dancing will follow the ceremony.

Or maybe this:

Karen & Ben, together with their families, would be delighted if you'd join them as they become man & wife. Dinner, drinking and awkward but enthusiastic dancing will follow the ceremony (... at venue address if different to the ceremony).

We love these ones below for a little bit of fun:

  • Together with our amazing families, we would love you to join us as we celebrate our marriage. Fizz, food, funky dancing and a free bar* to follow the ceremony. We would love to see you there! *only joking! We aren’t completely mad!

  • Karen & Ben, would love you to join them on their next big adventure as they celebrate their marriage.

  • Karen & Ben, together with their families, would love you to join them as they (finally!) tie the knot. What's that we hear? You wouldn't miss it for the world? Fantastic!

  • Join us for beers, bow ties and bad dancing as we would love to celebrate our big day with you!

  • We would love you to join us as we celebrate our marriage. An afternoon of bubbles, beers, BBQ & cheers! Followed by an evening of shenanigans... dancing shoes required!

Fancy something a little more traditional:

Mr & Mrs Wilson request the pleasure of your company to celebrate the wedding of their daughter, Karen Mary Patricia, to Benjamin Anthony Brown. A reception will follow at Grand Venue.

Got kids:

So there you go!

Announcing your big day to your loved ones is as easy as that.

Our main advice though it to make it sound like it's coming from you, make sure you get all the facts in there... and SPELL CHECK IT!

Hopefully this gives you a few ideas of where to start, either go straight ahead and copy it from here or use this as inspiration to make it your own. Remember, you can put any wording you'd like on your stationery - it's your day after all. If you've got your own ideas, we'd love to hear them!
